Serving South Carolina from Williston, SC
Masonry Contractor in Aiken County, SC
Aiken County is the largest part of our service area and the one we drive into most often. It stretches from Windsor and Salley, a short hop from our Williston shop, all the way west to North Augusta and Beech Island on the Savannah River. In between are Aiken itself, Graniteville, New Ellenton, Jackson and Wagener, each with its own mix of older homes, newer subdivisions and rural property.
Much of the county sits in the sandhills. That deep, sandy soil drains fast, which is good news for standing water, but it also moves. Pavers laid on a thin or loosely packed base will rut and spread over a few summers. We dig deeper, compact the base in lifts and lock the edges with a solid restraint so the surface stays tight. On the river side of the county, the soil changes to heavier clay closer to the bluffs, and drainage behind walls becomes the bigger concern.
The work we see most here is paver patios and outdoor living areas, often with an outdoor kitchen or fireplace attached. Retaining walls are common on the sloped lots around North Augusta and in parts of Aiken, and older brick homes throughout the county keep us busy with tuckpointing and repair.
Because the county is so large, we plan our Aiken County schedule by area. Jobs around Windsor, Salley and Wagener sit close to our shop, while North Augusta, Graniteville and Beech Island are grouped into dedicated trips. Either way, you get the same crew from the first measurement to the final sweep, and a clear estimate before any work begins.
